They don’t make ‘em like they used to. BT dubs I checked out a Mini on Sunday and wasn’t impressed with the build quality. Rattles and squeaks and the engine was rackety as all get out. I ain’t getting one after all. God love you for dealing with yours. I’m sticking with Japanese cars.

Luckily it didn't happen when the car was under it!

What year and mileage? Mine is an ‘06 S, which is the supercharged W11 motor, which has always ran very smooth for me. I had one rattle for a while but it wound up being the shift boot trim, which was easily remedied with 5 minutes and some 3M double-sided tape.
Cars vary individually based on prior owners and general upkeep. Some Mini’s have been ridden hard and put away wet, while others are still showroom fresh. But in general? Yeah, most owners spend some time chasing interior rattles. It’s something you either get used to or get the gumption to fix yourself.

At first I thought it was because of the wind, I was working in Anderson today, and it was a bit breezy. Our garage door recently flexed enough to rip out a piece of ceiling. Oh well, it’s a rental that’s now owned by the bank. The ceiling damage now matches the rest of the houses wall damage from foundation issues.

It’s been crazy windy in Greenville today. I was hoping to make some progress in cleaning out the garage so I could pull the Audi in, but without a truck or van to haul away the excess garbage, I’m kind of at a standstill.

If I was a little closer, I would bring up my 4Runner and help! But it needs a bit of front end work before I do any long interstate drives :( Something about wheel bearings being necessary.

Yeaaahhhh, those are pretty important. I appreciate the thought, though. :-)

Hopefully it will be interstate safe in time for the Sandblast.

You have a very good attitude. I can’t say I would have found humor had this happened to my new door.

What exactly did you do to piss Murphy off? You seem to be on his bad side lately.
Do you know anything about the oil leak in the Audi yet? I had an old S-10 pickup that used to leak like you wouldn't believe (around a qt every 1k miles). I put some really heavy oil in and that seemed to fix the problem (thinking it was 20w50). I know that's not really the correct long term solution, but I drove the truck that way for another 35k before it was fixed.
